The Gordon School, a vibrant and growing K-6 community Jewish Day School in the heart of Miami, is looking for a dynamic and creative Jewish studies teacher to infuse our Judaics program and school community with formal and informal Jewish content, learning, and a love of Jewish life and tradition. The Gordon School is dedicated to helping children reach their highest potential through our nurturing, child-centered environment and program of academic excellence. The Judaic Teacher position will be responsible for teaching Judaics to students in the K-6 grade. This position will be supervised by the Head of School and the Principal of the Day School.

Essential Qualifications:
Holds a degree in Jewish education, Judaic Studies, or a similar field
Pluralistically inclined and welcoming of diverse Jewish practices, perspectives, and backgrounds
Collaborative, empathetic, and compassionate educator and role-model
Self-driven, innovative, forward thinking, and ambitious experiential educator dedicated to imbuing the school with a love of Jewish wisdom, life, ritual, values, history and holidays

Job Description:
Plan, organize, administer, and direct all classroom learning activities in an experiential Jewish framework for students in Kindergarten through Grade 6
Be responsible for infusing ruach and a love of Jewish life throughout the school serving as a resource and creating innovative cross-departmental programming
Help to further develop the Judaic curriculum

Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development:
Collaborate in further building and implementing a robust, exciting, and engaging curriculum for Judaic studies
With guidance and support from the Head of School and Day School Principal the Judaics teacher will oversee, implement, and execute once-a-year ceremonies and Judaic Studies fairs for each grade level based on Jewish calendar events, milestones, and experiences working towards a unique Gordon School spiraling curriculum for all grades
Coordinate, lead, and oversee all Jewish holiday celebrations and immersive experiences throughout the year
Design student assessments to track progress in Judaic Studies
Organize and implement Shabbat shows for each grade level
Work in close partnership with faculty to guide, evaluate, and improve upon the academic program to ensure that it meets the needs of all learners while integrating a meaningful Jewish lens to See the World Through Jewish Eyes
Teaching Responsibilities:
Teach Judaic Studies in all grade levels, and help to lead school-wide Tefillah and Shabbat experiences
Design, implement, and execute school-wide and school-specific Judaic programming
Plan both formal and informal Judaic educational programming throughout the year.

Job Type: This is a full-time position. We are seeking a candidate who is community centered and willing to not only help shape our school, but grow with and immerse themselves in our school community.

Salary Range: $50,000-$65,000 commensurate with experience and educational background.
